The Redemptorist Foundation for the Disabled was founded by Father Raymond Brennan, or as we call him, “Father Ray” Founder of the Redemptorist Vocational School, Pattaya since 1984, Father Ray saw the need for a legal entity to own and operate the school. To create stability in operating according to the spirit. As Father Ray has always emphasized. “Dad wants to help all disabled people in the world.”
Father Ray therefore had the idea to establish the Redemptorist Foundation for the Development of the Disabled, with the approval of the Redemptorist Congregation of Thailand, which at that time had Father Philip Banchong Chaiyara, C.Ss.R. (now Bishop Philip Banchong Chaiyara, C.Ss.R., Bishop of Ubon Ratchathani Diocese) As the president of the Redemptorist Church of Thailand, he aims to create stability for the Redemptorist College of Technology, Pattaya and the foundation's units.
Father Ray also gave guidelines for the Foundation's operations as an organization supporting and providing funds for the operations of the Redemptorist Employment Center for the Disabled and supporting other activities for the rehabilitation of the disabled as deemed appropriate, so that it can operate in accordance with its spirit in a sustainable manner, including initiating or supporting other activities to promote and develop the quality of life of the disabled.
For over 40 years, we have focused on“Create jobs, create careers and provide stable and sustainable income to more than 10,000 people with disabilities.

Vision

It is an international organization for people with disabilities in education, job placement, career promotion, assistance and development of people with disabilities, elimination of unfair discrimination, development of knowledge and innovation, leadership of change and empowerment of people with disabilities towards an equal society. The organization is stable and has an environment and atmosphere that encourages everyone to have public spirit, be happy and successful in life.

The Redemptorist Foundation for People with Disabilities The organization provides education for the disabled to enable the disabled to have jobs and be self-reliant, which allows them to have a better quality of life and be able to be a good support for their families. It is a free education program, and students do not have to pay any expenses at all.

The foundation has a total of 4 educational institutions under its care as follows

1. Pattaya Redemptorist School For The Blind
under the royal patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess MaHa Chakri Sirindhorn
    

The only school for the blind in the eastern region, founded in 1986 by Father Raymond Brennan and Mrs. Aurora Sribuaphan, blind civil servants, social workers, and educators with master’s degrees from the United States who devoted themselves as volunteers for the Redemptorist Foundation of Thailand.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously accepted the Pattaya Redemptorist School for the Blind under royal patronage on June 2, 2004 and presided over the school’s opening ceremony on June 17, 1993.

The school’s objectives are to promote essential life skills and develop the quality of education for students with visual impairments so that they can live appropriately and happily.

The school will operate as a boarding school with dormitories and facilities for the visually impaired, with three meals a day and modern teaching equipment. Free of charge

The school currently has over 99 students under its care. Over the past 35 years, the Pattaya Redemptorist School for the Blind has produced over 593 visually impaired workers to serve society.

2. The Nong Khai Redemptorist Technological College for People with Disabilities  under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn

The first educational institution for the disabled in the Northeast, located in Nong Khai Province, was established in 2010. It started by providing training for students with disabilities. Later, it was granted permission to open a vocational training center for people with mobility or physical disabilities on May 16, 2017.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously accepted the Nong Khai Redemptorist Technological College under royal patronage on March 12, 2020.

The purpose of the college is to expand educational opportunities for people with disabilities to obtain educational qualifications, as well as to provide vocational training for people with disabilities in the Northeast and neighboring countries in the Mekong River Basin.

The operation of the college will be a boarding school with dormitories and facilities for the disabled, with three meals a day and modern teaching equipment. Free of charge

Currently, the college has more than 60 disabled students under its care. Over the past 11 years, the Nong Khai Redemptorist Technological College under Royal Patronage has produced more than 628 disabled workers to become professional personnel to serve society.

3. The Pattaya Redemptorist Technological College for People with Disabilities   

The first educational institution for the disabled in Thailand was established in 1984 by Father Raymond Brennan. Later in 1988, it was granted permission to establish a vocational education institution that provides vocational certificate and vocational diploma programs for people with mobility or physical disabilities.

The purpose of the college is to expand educational opportunities for the disabled to have an education qualification, including allowing all disabled people who graduate to have a career and work.

The operation of the college will be a boarding school with dormitories and facilities for the disabled, with 3 meals a day, as well as modern teaching equipment, free of charge.

Currently, the college has more than 170 disabled students under its care. Over the past 35 years, Pattaya Redemptorist Technological College has been able to produce more than 4,500 disabled people as professional personnel to serve society.

4. Father Ray School For Children With Special Needs

Educational institutions for children with intellectual disabilities were established in 2007, starting with the “Special Children Development Stimulation Room” project, which had 15 children receiving rehabilitation. Later, the scope of work was expanded to develop services. The school collaborated with the Non-Formal and Informal Education Center, Chonburi Province, to provide Individualized Education Program (IEP) to develop labor skills and create careers. Therefore, the area was expanded by constructing a new school and vocational training building. On January 28, 2016, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously bestowed the name of the new building “Chaloem Phrakiat”.

The purpose of the school is to promote the potential of children or children with intellectual disabilities to become self-reliant, have a career, and live independently in society happily.

The school’s operations include organizing training and special activities for specific groups, with modern equipment, teaching media, and facilities for the disabled, along with lunch. Free of charge

Currently, Father Ray Special School has more than 172 students under its care, and more than 38 have graduated from the formal education system and are now able to enter the professional path and become self-reliant.
